Nokia N9 The Only Warrior With Meego Os

By:

The Meego operating system has been unviled, with much hoolah from consumers or should we say Nokia patrons striving for the Finnish makers comback to the top. We are not a Nokia patron, but the device seems like an innocent kid, so we couldnt resist its charm and soon fell in to the trap. The only Meego device (at the time of its release) N9 successfully disrupted the porcess through which a handset is prepared. A baby is born after nine months of conceiving, but this handset was conceived eighteen months ago. Such a long duartion of preparing just a handset seems somwhat obnoxious, but the shakespeare must be right in saying alls well that ends well. The Nokia N9 is a great product, and being one of the last product of the UI line up, feels special to us.

Lets have a distant view on the Meego OS. This operating system was formed after Nokia took a critical decision to merher its Linux-based Maemo OS with the Moblin OS of the Intel. The operating system had a short life, as we now consider Microsofts Windows Phone 7 Operating system as the future of all the Nokias upcoming smartphones.

Nokia N9 is attractive, which is a rare case with the handsets of the Finnish mobile maker, who is known to make dull and boring handsets (sorry to Nokia fans). The curved AMOELD display is also a bit of innoavtibe, as the swipe gesture facility now sits in the list of the features of this brilliant handset. Well, we know that the swipe gesture attribute is not new, but the crucial fact is that the Meego operating system takes full advantage of swipe gesture facility in this handset.

The user interface appears to be distributed in to three major categories apps, events and the open applications, and did we told you thata single swipe could get you back at the home screen. Maybe we forget that? But, isnt better late than never. And, the accumulation of the social feeds isnt an original idea as we have seen it on the HTC Sense many times. Our sharp eyes also noticed the presence of two (but, why?) shorcuts on the handset- one in the form of a physical key and the other one at the bottom of he screen. We know that camera is an important feature, but this much attention is not at all asked for.

About the Author:
Nokia N9 certainly isnt part of the extremely popualar category of Cheap Nokia phones, but still is great even though its carrying a dead operating system. The UI is the both beenfit and disadvanatage of getting this handset.
