Nissan used cars like there Maxima model use to be there number one luxurious car until Nissan started there Infiniti brand. I think the Maxima is as good as the entry level G35 Infiniti, even thou it now takes a second seat to that vehicle and is thousands of dollars more expensive. I really believe before you take a look at an Infiniti G35, BMW 3-series or even a Mercedes C-class you should take a look at this sedan that is much less in price. My research will be on the Nissan Maxima as a used vehicle to look at.

I looked at a used 2004 Nissan Maxima and found that this four door sedan has enough leg room in both the front and rear seats for five adults. The Maxima SE comes standard with dual-zone automatic controls, air condition, leather strapped steering wheel, cruise control, power mirrors, power windows and power locks. The SL model comes with even more stuff like leather seats, heated front seats, heated power windows, Bose AM/FM radio and a six CD-changer. There is also an option to add an antiskid platform, satellite radio and a rear spoiler to the SE model.

There are several different fuel statistics for the sixth generation Nissan Maxima model. The 2004 Nissan manual transmission had a fuel rating of 11.5-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.3-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The automatic transmission had a fuel rating of 11.6-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.9-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. In 2007 the automatic transmission had a fuel rating of 11.1-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving.

The 2004 Nissan Maxima used a V6, 3.5-litre engine and this produced 265 horsepower. This model has a transmission choice of either a four/ five speed automatic transmission or a six speed manual transmission. In 2007 Nissan decided to change its trannies in the Maxima to its continuously variable transmission.

Lets look at some of the pros and cons of the Nissan Maxima as a used vehicle:

1-It was given an average rating for a used vehicle by a leading online watch dog.
2-There are problems with original the Goodyear tires having the sidewalls cracked.
3-There is a problem with the five speed automatic transmission not shifting into gear smoothly.
