Good Reasons For Booking A Holiday In The Snow In Japan

Is it not amazing that the country which brought us fantastic things like "Hello Kitty", "Pokemon" and "Sailor Moon" has kept it a secret from us all these years, that there is a lot of beautiful and fresh powder snow all around Japan?

Even though Nagano has hosted the winter Olympics of 1998, it was only currently that Japan has received some awareness from powder snow fanatics, who simply could not withstand the temptation of hurdling down the white and soft slopes in the land of the rising sun.

It is in mid December when the skiing seasons start for most of Japan's holiday spots, reaching the highest point in January and February and continuing until the last days of March.

During weekends and national holidays, the trails can be very crowded because all locals want to have some fun too, but on weekdays it can happen that the whole piste belongs only to you, giving you the chance to enjoy the wildest rides downhill you can imagine.

Japan has contributed a lot of money in the 1980's, toward the enhancement of winter sports and equipment and therefore one will find quite fashionable ski lifts in the big vacation resorts. Gondolas, rope-ways and high- speed quad lifts are normally encountered in most get away spots.

A great number of skiing places now also over plenty of fun for snowboarders, such as half pipes, quarter pipes, snow tubing and cool designed ski parks, which are a big delight for any snowboard lover.

Japan calls over 500 skiing resorts its own and also has two main skiing zones. One is the Nagano perfecture including the Hakuba Valley, which is the most famous and beloved skiing resort on the southern Island. The other one is located on the northern Island and is even more popular. Hokkaido is the most advanced ski paradise in Japan, with Niseko which is receiving many locals and tourists from around the globe, season after season.

Ten ski havens belong to Hakuba Valley alone, with more than 200 trails and 139 ski conveyors and lifts. A cool small town center, skiing and snowboarding stores as well as excellent authentic and western style cuisine and apres ski divertissement, make Hakuba Valley a fantastic holiday domicile.

One should think about getting a multiple resort ski ticket, which will allow you to enter the wonderlands of Tsugaike, Iwatake, Sunalpina, Hakuba Highland, Hakuba Goryu, Hakuba 47, and Happo One, which are also harboring amazing trails and many other attractions.

Niseko is getting larger on a daily basis and sees more tourists, from around the world coming in regularly, who are having a good time on the pistes, so there is no need to worry about not being understood, as many different languages are spoken all over the resort.
