Everyone that visits NYC must see the Empire State Building. The city is filled with high rise buildings to look at, but this one offers a different view. The historic building is located on 34th Street and Fifth Avenue and can be identified from just about anywhere in NYC. It was opened for business in 1931. The top of the building has been lit by white lights since 1931 when President Hoover pushed a button in Washington D.C. It has been beloved of the New York landmarks since that time. It is a popular destination so it is wise to buy tickets online ahead of time to avoid long lines.

The Statue of Liberty is one of the most recognized of the New York landmarks. No trip to NYC is complete without a visit to Lady Liberty. She was a gift from France to the US back in 1886 and still stands today as a beacon of welcome and freedom to everyone entering the US through New York City. Visitors are invited to take in the view offered from the Promenade, Observatory and even from the crown which was closed for some time but has reopened in recent years.

The Rockefeller Center is another of the New York landmarks that is well known. It is located in Midtown Manhattan and offers attractions like Radio City Music Hall, NBC studios, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, and much more. It is known for the Christmas tree, ice skating rink, and Channel Gardens. It is filled with art and culture that should not be missed.
