I have taken the Christmas break to look for a new car, Ive been looking at
used cars in East Anglia as the wife and I have decided to put off buying a brand new car until next year, were hoping to have saved up enough by then and paid off some small debt.
In order to buy a new car though we have to sell our old car, its 7 years old now and weve outgrown it. Were thinking of getting an estate or a sports utility vehicle like the Range Rover or BMW X5. Ive looked into ways of selling the old car, part exchange would be the quickest and hassle free option but traders do not offer a lot of money especially at used car supermarkets. And, if we are to part exchange then we are limited to only buying from a dealer or user car supermarket.
I want to be able to pick my new car from the widest selection possible so Ive decided to sell my old car first. Ive looked at car buying companies out there like We Buy Any Car, I had an online valuation done and they offered substantially less than what I think the car is worth. I have decided to sell the car privately through used car websites and the local paper.
Before I listed the car I first gave it a good clean, it was quite an emotional moment washing it, waxing and vacuuming it for what might be the last time. I want the advert to stand out so I took lots of pictures at different angles, I got all the paperwork together and took pictures of that too.
Ive researched the price and seen what other sellers have listed similar models for, I think my car is in excellent condition so Ive gone for the higher end of the price range, hopefully people will appreciate how well the car has been looked after.
