I had always been very careful about what I signed up for on the internet. As far as I am concerned, giving your email address away to a company that you do not trust is the same as giving your home address away. I was cautious to prevent my email inbox from filling up with junk mail or spam from businesses or individuals trying to scam me or sell me products of which I had no interest in whatsoever. However, one day I received an email advertising the
New Volkswagen Beetle For Sale in my local area. I had always driven Volkswagen Beetles since the early sixties and had seen adverts on the television for the new model. I clicked on the email and read the content which was very informative and educated me to a large degree on the new Volkswagen Beetle. It also mentioned that they currently had a sale on all cars. I had previously spoken to my wife about buying a new car and it therefore seemed like a good opportunity. I rang up t
he number listed and spoke to a very friendly woman on the phone. She asked me how I knew they were selling the car and I explained the story about the email and my cautious ways, of which I am sure she found very boring.
The following day I drove to the dealership with my wife in our old Volkswagen Beetle. We parked alongside the new model and the contrast was quite apparent. They had only one of the new Beetles for sale and so I thought that if we liked the car we should make moves to purchase it that same day to avoid disappointment. I took the vehicle for a test drive and was very pleased with its performance.
We decided to purchase the new Volkswagen Beetle and could not be happier with our decision. However, we now have an old Volkswagen Beetle for sale on our front drive.
