New Glee Reality Program To Come To Satellite Tv

Part of being successful in pop culture today is successfully managing various forms of media. One of the champions of this be everywhere at once strategy has definitely been the program Glee. With fans all over the planet, the show has used not just television but various other forms of media to make a big impact on fans. There are CDs, DVDs, MP3s, viral videos, Tweets, live concert performances, merchandise, iPhone applications and so much more out there ready to provide fans with the 24 hour a day coverage they really want when it comes to the program. Oh yes, and there is the show which is hugely popular not only when new episodes come out, but on DVR recorders, and online. It would seem that this is one product that has the pop culture machine down to a science. Now, however, there will be another branch of the Glee madness going out. When the show called last year for a guest star, the fans answered. About 40,000 fans answered the call to be exact, and the turnout was so successful that of course it made sense to turn the casting itself into a series. The new reality style series and talent competition will be known as The Glee Project, and will begin airing on satellite TV in June of 2011.

What will the fans or gleeks be doing on the program? Of course a big part of getting a coveted role on the show for not only celebrities but fans turned guest stars is being a triple threat. This means that the contestants will be asked and expected to act, sing and dance equally well. According to producers, those interested in the show shouldnt expect the kind of harsh, in your face criticisms of the performers that others shows use to boost ratings, but rather should expect more of a workshop feel where the contestants are encouraged to hone their talents. In keeping with the spirit of the show which concentrates on a group of high school misfits, the idea is to find that diamond in the rough. The winner they expect will be a person with a lot of heart and a lot of talent that might not have been discovered on other talent competitions that tend to turn into more popularity contests than anything else. Of course looking good in high definition never hurt anyones chances of making it onto one of the top rated network television programs of all time, but perhaps thats part of being a quadruple threat in the age of satellite TV and LCD screens.

Part of the fun for the writers and producers of the show will be finding a kid who will inspire a character. They are not trying to cast anyone to a specific role, but rather are looking for something fresh and unexpected that makes fans even more excited about the next season of the show. The shows ability to work with the talent at hand and let it develop instead of molding and melding the kids into prefabricated pop star forms has been part of its success. The next phase will see if it translates into reality TV on satellite TV this coming summer!
