Never A Dull Moment In Casablanca

By:

A visit to Casablanca will give you a sense of nostalgia because of the vivid French background that blends in with the modern Moroccan city. Casablanca is a modern city that still retains the charm of a relatively small town.

A popular landmark that signifies the perfect blend of old and new is the Place de Nations Unies. You will be able to see some beautiful modern buildings between shopping centers and special cafes. There are other modern features that contribute towards the appeal of the city, among which are the Boulevard Moulnay Youssef, Casablanca Twin Center, Boulevard Boigny and Boulevard Anfa. There are also many shopping centers from where you can enjoy a great shopping experience.

If you would like to experience the rich Arabic heritage, the City Hall or Central Post Office building will give you the opportunity to see beautiful Islamic architecture and fine Arabic mosaic art.

You will not help but marvel at the Hassan II Mosque whether you are a religious scholar or not. Although the mosque is modestly situated on a simple green lawn, it is not modest by any standard. This is a grand building that easily accommodates 25,000 people. The size of the mosque is not the only special feature it has. The mosque has laser lights that always shine towards the holy city of Mecca. Of course, its size enables visitors to see it from far away.

It is ranked among the largest mosques in the whole world. The sea seems to provide protection against the mosque from three sides, and there is a fountain on the remaining side, providing a warm welcome to the visitors. The marble and stone floors, painted wood ceilings and plaster moldings set it apart as a masterpiece. The grand mosque was constructed in 1980.

Other interesting religious sites are the White Mosque and the Cathedrale Sacre Coeur.

When it is time for fun, the Parc de la Arabe is a perfect destination. It is a park located right within the seaside ports that tend to be quite busy. There are special gardens and palm trees that provide a great tropical atmosphere. This is a good place for the whole family to have great fun and relax.

After relaxing, you can venture into the shopping quarter and interact with friendly people before proceeding to the old city of Medina. You will get a new experience as the buildings change from the sprawling mansions of the new city to relatively smaller homes. This, however, does not mean that the place is a mess. All the houses are crafted well and you will not find any dark corners or alleys.

Another thing that you will notice here is the rich artistic talent that you will see from the numerous items. In addition, you will notice that there are people such as storytellers and singers trying to catch your attention.

There are also shops from where you can get some great bargains, so long as you sharpen your bargaining skills first.
