Networking Dos And Donts

By:

In networking, as much as we want to have the most number of clients, there are still certain ethics observed. Although these are not formally written, these have been practiced by expert sales agents over the years to show respect and to give order in the business dealings that will transpire. This is also to prevent conflicts among agents. If you are still new to networking, it is good to know these dos and donts so you can use it in your business dealings.
Dos
First, you need to know the things that you can do or should do when in a specific situation. A good agent should know this and this differentiates best agents from good agents
Actively participate in local business organizations Being a sales agent is not only about making yourself rich but also to give the community what you want to share. There are many business organizations in almost any part of the country and these can help you help other people but also to gain new friends and make new connections.
Dont forget your existing and previous contacts We may find other people to share our business with, but we must not forget our existing clients. Continue to establish communication with them and never take them for granted. They may well be your source of future clients because if you treated them well, theyll surely recommend you to their friends.
Make time for investment conferences Although this can be an additional expense for you especially if it is held from your place, take time to attend these conferences. These conferences are filled with agents and potential investors as well. Be sm.art and be classy and youll soon get a lot of new contacts
Donts
These are the things that you need not do. Failure to comply with this is disrespectful, unprofessional and you might create conflicts along the way.
Dont go around calling and talking to random numbers First of all, it is not a sign that you are good sales agent. Calling other people randomly is not an assurance that you will get some clients over the phone. Instead you are wasting peoples time as they answer your phone call.
Dont give your calling cards to anyone you meet in a room When you are attending a business conventions or conference, you will see and meet a lot of agents like you as well as potential investors in your business. Since this was a business convention, you might think giving calling cards to random people is just fine when in fact its not. You might be giving your calling cards to expert sales agents and you might end up being ridiculed. Instead, approach a person, know his background, introduce yourself and if you see he has interest, try giving him your call card.
There are still many dos and donts that you can find in the internet. You may be selling products and services but never forget that people would view you as rude or disrespectful. You can sell products but be mindful always of what people will feel or think.
