Networking - The Sure Fire Way To Drum Up Clientele For Your Real Estate Business

By:

In order to make money in the real estate world, you will need to make friends and meet new people. This is the best way to network for your real estate business. It is the way in which you will be able to find most of your clientele.

Be creative in your search for new clientele. You never know where you may find them. A list of where you may find new clientele could include one or more of the following:

Holiday Work Parties: If it is not a conflict of interest, you may be able to make deals at holiday work parties.

Family Gatherings: If you have family members who you know may be interested in making money, buying and selling real estate, this may be one place to start. Just make sure that real estate deals do not get in the way of your personal relationships.

Other Realtors: You may meet other realtors who are looking for more property to list in their newsletters or on their websites. You may just be the person who has the sale property that they are looking for.

Online Groups: You can join online discussions with other people interested in buying and selling real estate. Through this connection you may run across someone who wants to take a look at some of the property you have for sale.

Realtor's Organizations: These organizations are designed to help make licensed realtors as successful as possible. Some like the NAR even have online learning tools and free articles that you can read. In addition, many realtors' organizations hold meetings and seminars that you can attend. In this way, you can learn what works and what doesn't work. You may even be able to work out a deal with other realtors while you are there. Some of these associations and organizations for realtors will help you advertise as well.

Friends of Your Clients: You can tell your current clients to make sure they let their friends know that they have dealt with you. If they put in a good word about you to their friends you will be likely to have business for a lifetime.

Friends of Your Friends: The more word of mouth contact you experience in your effort to find more clientele, the better. You or your friends or the friends of your friends will know quite a few people interested in buying and selling real estate. Furthermore, you may meet people in this way who are looking for a home to purchase as well.

Doctor's Offices: Your local doctor may be looking to expand his or her practice. Keep your ears open for news of a possible doctor's office location. If this were to happen, you could possibly be the first on the scene. You could offer your doctor some fine deals on quality pieces of commercial property.

Shopping Malls: You may hear news of a new shopping mall going up, or you may run into people in the shopping mall. Some of the people that you meet, even complete strangers, can be potential clients.

While Travelling: Perhaps you have a business meeting a few hours away from home. Sometimes you may talk to others while you are travelling if you are riding a bus, or train, or taking a plane. You can give these people your card in case they are willing to work with you from a distance.

Community Gatherings: Taking part in community events and attending community gatherings is another way to meet potential clients. No matter where you go most likely one person is going to ask you what you do for a living. You can proudly tell them you are in the real estate business. You will find people asking you all sorts of questions; such as what types of property do you sell. Get out there and socialize. It will do you some good to reach out to your community.

Volunteer Events: Part of community involvement is taking part in volunteering for community service projects. This is a great way to for you to be known and to expose yourself to the public. It is considered a form of public relations. Some corporations will even donate large sums of money to volunteer organizations, which is another form of publicity. This is very useful to help you gain exposure.

Business Fairs: Local business chapters and local chambers of commerce within an area often get into these events. These are ways of inviting large numbers of people to one specific place where an event occurs. It could be the grounds of a seminar or a fair where business booths are exhibited.

You can find clientele anywhere you see and meet people. Some people have even talked real estate over a couple of beers in a tavern. You never know when you are going to meet the right person who wants to buy and is looking for what you have to offer.

Wherever you go you should be ready to make a sale. That means you need to have your briefcase, business cards, and cell phone with you at all times. You never know when that money making deal will fall into your hands. It is not an easy road being in real estate. However, the more people you know the better.

Another way to network is to make yourself visible on the web and to make sure you market yourself. Many realtors have mailing lists of their existing and potential clients to whom they send out greeting cards and newsletters. You never know when and who is going to respond to some of these mailings and promotions.
