Neon Lights Light Up Broadway

Neon lights have been an important part of different sites throughout US and the world. They were originally developed over 100 years ago and the technology associated with them has evolved to the point where over 100 colors can be achieved in differing intensities. Neon lights have been used in many locations and applications. One area well discuss is the use of neon lights on Broadway.

Broadway is a very well known area in New York City. It gets its name from the major street that runs through the center of the area (Broadway, of course). Broadway features many kinds of theatres, shopping, cultural, and dining establishments. Neon lights have brought a great deal of focus and excitement to the area and really lights it up at night.

Neon lights have been used on marquees to bring attention and focus to the front of theatres. They not only make the theatres look that much more beautiful, but it makes it much easier to spot the location when you are walking down the Great White Way.

These lights have also been used to frame and bring attention to signs or announcements. On Broadway, neon has been used to really show off and display the name of the show currently being performed in the theatre. It has also been used to develop larger signs that promote and advertise the show in other locations in and around Broadway.

The use of neon lights brings a special look and feel to the area. They are beautiful to look at and the wide variety of colors, sizes, and types is very interesting and entertaining. They help make just walking around Broadway in the evening a real experience and one not to miss.

The signs that use neon lights, the marquees, and other lighting enhancements are often quite large and can entail the use of hundreds of lights. They are truly an amazing thing to watch and experience. Some of the marquees use different colored lights that can turn on and off. This allows the marquees to have a moving effect as the lights turn on and off with a predetermined sequence.

These large marquees and signs can often require sophisticated control and power mechanisms to operate properly. This makes for a very impressive and entertaining net result.

The use of neon lights on Broadway has been around for many years and will most likely continue for many more.
