You should always have an emergency bag packed so you can grab it as you are going out the door. If you do not have the time to get out, find someplace that you will be safe. Grab the mattress off of your bed and get into your bathtub with this mattress over your heads. If this space is not big enough, find a big enough closet, get down on the floor and close the door. Doing any of these might help save your life.

After the storm has passed, call your insurance agent so that the both of you can look at any damage together. This can save you a lot of time and money.
