With natural disaster floods, damages can be done in minutes after it happens and there is little you can do after the fact except clean up the mess as quickly as possible. This nasty water damages the walls, floors, furniture, and everything else in your home that it can get to. Not only will the water do damage, but so will everything that it will bring with it. All the things that can be in the water can be very dangerous to you and your health. There can be chemicals, waste from the sewers, debris, oil, gas, and many other unthinkable things. Floods can be just a few inches high up to your ankles or the water can be up to your knees and even higher than that.

If you have never been through a flood and do not know how bad it can be, then you will be in for a shocking surprise if you ever experience one in your home. Sometimes you can see the aftermath of a flood on TV on the news or some other shows and there you can see how scary it can be and what it can cause. There are other things you might want to know that the water from the flood can cause to you, things that can permanently damage you health. You can get diseases, viruses, and many other things. It can bring bugs that carry diseases that can or will effect you or kill you later.

Many people get hurt due to the water force because it is so strong it can break bones, give you cuts, and more. People become trapped on top of buildings or homes and many people have lost their lives due to these floods. The current of the water can be so strong that it can knock down power lines, homes, bridges, and cover and wash away roads. It can create mud slides which are very dangerous and can cause more damage to towns or cities.

The ground can come out from underneath buildings and homes moving the foundation over or it will break it up. It can cause your house to rot and become infested with mold after the water recedes. It can cause bowing and warping to occur which damages your home. Even if the water does not destroy the home, if the water is present for too long, the mold damage can be catastrophic as well. The water can get into everything soaking into the fabrics, carpets, walls, under and the flood boards, and all of your personal things could or will get damaged or ruined. Some might be able to be salvaged by cleaning, but many will not be worth saving.
