Naples Suzuki Dealership Says Brand Gained 12 Points In Brand Perception Survey

By:

After one of the toughest years for automakers, it seems like things are starting to look up for one particular automaker, Suzuki. The Naples Suzuki dealership said Suzuki gained 12 points in this years Consumer Reports Car Brand Perception Survey. In the 2009 Consumer Reports survey Suzuki received 7 points, which caused them to have the least amount of points then all the other automakers surveyed. In this years survey they had 19 points, which moved them up a lot higher on this years list.

Suzukis increase in points on this years survey is also due to their aggressive plans to keep up with other automakers during this tough time. Car analysts believe Suzuki retains a leg up on the competition. Andrew Phillips, an analyst with KBC Securities Japan says, Suzuki is securing a strong future in part by offering more upscale vehicles like the SX4 and Grand Vitara, which you can currently find at the Naples Suzuki Dealership, to respond to an evolving market. He believes based on these new Suzuki Bonita Springs models consumers wont need to leave the Suzuki brand. Suzuki has been increasing production capacity to more than 750,000 vehicles a year and expects to produce 1 million cars annually by 2010. Also, Suzuki plans to reach every region by doubling its service centers and showrooms in India to 1,000 in the next few years.

In this years Consumer Reports Survey, Toyota maintained their number one spot from last year, receiving 196 points, which is 189 points, more than what they received on last years survey. Based on Toyotas recent recall of 2.3 million cars for sticky accelerator pedals and another 4.2 million for pedal-grabbing floor mats its surprising that they received the most amount of points and that consumers still have such a high opinion of Toyota. Ford then came in second with 141 points, Honda in third with 135 points, Chevrolet in fourth with 124 points and Volvo in fifth with 92 points. At the lower end of the spectrum, the two lowest-scoring brands were Hummer and Saab. Overall Luxury brands saw the greatest decreases from last years survey, Porsche went down 13 points, Lexus and Cadillac went down 15 points, Infiniti 21 points and Lincoln 25 points.

These rankings are based on responses from 1,720 adults whose households own at least one car on how much a brand was mentioned in one of seven different categories. These categories are safety, quality, value, performance, environmental friendliness, design, and technical innovation. Overall brand perception is an index calculated as the total number of times that a particular make was mentioned as an exemplar across all seven categories, divided by the total of unaided mentions. The scores reflect consumers' total perception level of a brand across those categories, and not the actual qualities of the brand's individual vehicles. Based on this survey Consumer Reports also found that out of those seven categories safety is their first concern, quality is their second concern, and value is their third concern.
