Hatchbacks have become hot items over the last few years. As the focus of the automotive industry shifts from larger gas guzzlers to smaller, more economical vehicles, were still seeing SUV-based cars come out on the market, but most have shown up in the form of crossovers. The advantage of the crossover lies mostly in the similar stylings of the SUV, extra storage room and room for more passengers and a better fuel efficiency based both on better engine options and a smaller size body. The hatchback factor is perfect for drivers that need a little extra storage room for camping, tailgating and the like.

As an avid camper, I was on the lookout for a sexy hatchback that would be able to fit all my equipment in a functional manner. Every summer, I take about six or seven camping trips with friends; nothing really moves me the way roasting marshmallows by the fire and sleeping under the stars does.
