Among many of MySpace qualities,one would be the publicity they provide for the amateur bands.MySpace's special music section contained web page covering the English band Arctic Monkeys.MySpace could be called one of the key source of the bands popularity.

However, ironically though this British band, in an interview with the Prefix magazine quoted that they barely know what Myspace was, and their fans had originally created the website for the band on this section of MySpace.Another figure in the music scenerio, Lily Allen's fame is said have due to the favour of MySpace as well.This popstars had been earlier promoted over MySpace music section,which followed the popularity,many claimed.But iroically this had been denied by the popstar herself on an interview over Triple J,Australia.Nevertheless MySpace is well known among the music personnels.G4'S hit show Attack of the Show' features a special section,regarding this website,called MySpace Girl Of The Week.

The minimum age to register as a MySpace user is 14.by default the profiles within the age group of 14 or 15 are private. The users who are 16 and beyond have options to confine their profiles. There are additional options, which allow specified personal data to be restricted to the members in their friends list'. In recent times the site has gone through a lot of criticism. A number of news reports have brought MySpace to focus in recent times. These reports state the vulnerability of the teenagers that the restrictions of MySpace has exposed them into but my space has assured parents about the safety of the website. It states that the site is risk-free for people of all ages. Later, in the end of June 2006, the people with age group of 18 and beyond were prohibited from adding people with the age range of 14-15 unless they know their full names or email addresses. But the drawbacks of these restrictions are that if the users have hidden their age while signing up then the perpetrators cannot be traced by any means. For example, in June 2006, a 19 year old user was allegedly accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl and the girl sued the company and news corporation of 30000 million as a result of damage. Another 16 year old girl, Katherine Lester lured her parents to make her a passport and fled to the middle east for living with a man she met through myspace who was 20 years of age. She was then convinced by the US officials in Jordan to return back to her country.

Although much emphasis is put on whether the availability and restrictions of Myspace should be monitored amongst the young adults Myspace has continued to grow. Regardless of many contradictions within the policy and strict terms and conditions set by the Myspace authorities there are illegal transfer of popular Myspace accounts for the exchange of large amount of money continuously provoking the underground and popular buy and sell forums around the web.
