One of the most popular sports speakers to work on the UK circuit is Sean Fitzpatrick. A lot of young men looked up to him, and he was considered the epitome of a sports hero. He was an amazing rugby player, and was lauded as a leader on and off the field. Sean was nicknamed as Fitzy. He played from 1986 till May 1998 when he announced his retirement. Since the 1987 World Cup he has played 99% of all the games. He was set to the captain of the All Black team, and was considered as among the best captains it ever had. He was appointed captain of the All Blacks in 1992 and played in 121 international matches, including 92 Test matches.

In 1996, he became part of the Auckland Blues. With him, they won the inaugural Super 12 competition. He also led the All Blacks to the championship in the tri-series competition against Australia and South Africa. He also led the greatest and first even test series win against South Africa. In fact, in 1997 he led the All Blacks to an unprecedented 12 win streak. He was the part of the Buckland team. He announced his retirement from the sport in 1998 due to serious knee injuries.

Sean was more than just an athlete. He also wrote "Turning Point, the Making of a Captain". Ever since its release in 1998 it's one of the bestselling books. Sean loved rugby too much, which was why he could never really leave it despite his injury. This is why he became NZRFU's Rugby Consultant in 1999, responsible for player development and liaison. Sean is also a philanthropist. He works for a number of charity issues. For instance, he was one of the founders of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which seeks to use sport as a medium to bring about social change. He is also ambassador for New Zealand's Variety Club. He is also affiliated with Ronald McDonald House and Starship Children's Hospital.

Sean still holds the world record for most caps by a forward. So far no one has yet matched or surpassed the record, which is 51. Sean has also been inducted in 2001 in the International Rugby Hall of Fame and in 2002 in the NZ Sports Hall of Fame. The World Sports Academy has also extended a membership to him. As if all the aforementioned talents weren't enough, Sean is also one of the distinguished keynote speakers. Previously he was just admired by people simply because of his achievements and his great sports record. Today, his oratory skills are just one more thing to add to his very long list of credentials.

Other speakers that work the UK circuit as sports speakers include Nigel Owens who is an international rugby referee, cricketer Alec Stewart, football star Paul Walsh and boxing champion Sir Henry Cooper. Said personalities often get invites to deliver key note speeches at various events.
