Before the concept of animation was limited to making cartoon films, however now animation has become a vast study. For every detailed work, you need to have detailed knowledge as well as skills. There are so many specializations in animation field and each one of these is highly demanded. Animation schools and institutes are focusing on more and more students for exploiting their skills.

In this creative field the only thumb rule is to be a constant learner. The more you learn, the more quality and versatility will show up in your work. Animation software comprises of multiple software applications such as Flash, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Maya, Fusion, Sound Forge, VFX, ZBrush and many more. Specialization lies in each of these softwares. For example, Maya is 3D software and has specializations like modeling, rigging, lighting, animating, texturing etc. on the basis of which one can be a modeler, texturer, animator and lot more. Complete knowledge and thorough practice make these software applications, user friendly. However, before learning all of these softwares and their specializations, one should also remember the saying Jack of all, master of none. Hence, one needs to be specialized in one or two software and have a brief knowledge of the rest. After all animation is all about talent, it shows up when you highlight it.
