Moxxor Associates Should Push Your Limits

By:

I recently did something extraordinary: I began taking swing dance lessons. I just wrapped up my second session a few days ago. This might not seem so extraordinary to some or even most of you but it marks the first time in my 40 years on this planet that I decided to get over my fear of hitting the dance floor, master both of my two left feet, and find out once and for all whether my decades-old jokes about my lack of rhythm were rooted in any kind of reality.

One hour of practice put that old saw to rest forever. I discovered that I do, in fact, have rhythm and that I am quite capable of becoming a pretty good swing dancer. Better yet, mastering swing is helping me learn other steps as well, thus broadening my horizons even further. During my second hour of practice, it finally dawned on me that dancing is nothing to be feared. On the contrary, it's lots and lots of fun. It does of course help to have a great instructor.

This small accomplishment got me to thinking: How often do we, as home-based business owners, shy away from opportunities or growth because we believe that we can't or shouldn't go there? How much does holding back cost in terms of personal fulfillment and business profits?

What limits have you imposed on yourself and/or on your home-based business? Where did these limits come from and why? Are these limits real or imagined? How much profit and ease are you missing out because of these artificially imposed boundaries? What benefits might you get by pushing your own limits?

Maybe you're not a home-based business owner because you either have a fulltime job or are unemployed. If you're employed, do you love your job? Will you look back on all the years you spent in the traditional job market with pride and happiness at how you spent your life? Or are you like most people who are in it for the paycheck? Whether you're employed or not, the fact is that today's economy is more than a little scary. Companies are slashing jobs left and right and people with advanced college degrees are competing for minimum-wage jobs in a last-ditch effort to stay afloat.

If this describes you (or anyone you know) then I submit that you have a choice: You can remain in the same old trap hoping for a miracle or you can break out of your self-made prison and make a bold dash for the freedom you crave and deserve. Let me put this another way: When you look back on your life someday, would you rather say "If only" or "I did it my way"? If the former, then there is very little that I or anyone can do to help you.

But if you are determined to thrive no matter what and to live by your own rules and enjoy true independence, then starting a home-based business (or growing your existing one, if you're already in business for yourself) is the only way to go.

Me? I choose freedom at all cost. This is why I took a tremendous leap of faith and helped co-found www.moxworks.com. My partners and I invested many hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to create a business opportunity for ourselves and those willing and driven enough to join us in prospering despite the economy. Diving headlong into this venture forced me to leave my comfort zone way, way behind. I've had my share of doubts and felt my share of fear as I abandoned my old way of doing things but I did it. I made the choice to be free. If I can do it, so can you!

How does someone begin to move outside their comfort zone? My experience with www.moxworks.com has taught me that the easiest way is to just go for it. Swallow your fears, be prepared to swallow more than a little pride, and you may just surprise and delight yourself. The best part about exploring beyond your comfort zone is that one little success is all it takes to start you brainstorming other ways to grow and expand. For example, I'd been resisting finishing a book I've been working on for a long time. This afternoon, I returned from my dance lesson and polished it off in just a few hours. Are the two connected? I don't know, but I have my suspicions because the truth is that how you do anything is how you do everything. Go all in and you'll have nothing left to lose but everything to gain.

The lesson is simple: Just because you have been doing something a certain way (or not doing it as the case may be) for many years doesn't make it sacred, necessary, or even healthy for yourself or your business. Your home-based business cannot grow beyond your own boundaries, meaning that you must grow if your business is to grow. Maybe you've been resisting introducing others to your opportunity because you're afraid of being rejected. In this case, letting go of your fear of rejection will open the door to acceptance to people who will say "Yes!" to your opportunity. Maybe you're an artist who feels that art and business are like oil and water. Maybe letting go of this artificial boundary will allow you to use you artistic skills to grow a thriving home-based business that will give you the time and freedom to enjoy your art.

Brush your fears and trepidation aside and push your limits with all the gusto you can muster. The worst that can happen is that you'll reaffirm those limits, which isn't so bad because it's almost always good to be right. The best that can happen is that you will surprise and delight yourself as you discover skills and capabilities you never knew you had. Do this once and you may well be inspired to challenge yourself and grow in another area, then another and another. Where will this path lead? I have no idea. I can tell you that it will be lots of fun and possibly very rewarding in other ways.

You don't need to do this alone. I partnered with two experts (Jim Britt and Louis Volpe) to found the MOXXOR WORKS Team. Those guys are my inspiration and my mentors. If you're looking for a way out of whatever situation you're in and need some dedicated support and mentoring to help you get started and keep going from there, then I urge you to visit www.moxworks.com and check out our opportunity. Join us and you'll get all the support, training and mentoring you need to succeed.

No matter which path you choose, you will never grow unless and until you push your limits. So what's it going to be?
