Modern Dining Tables Have No Fuss Styling

By:

Modern dining tables offer a stylish way to entertain and a style most people will never tire of. New styles are made from a variety of materials and have new solutions for old problems. Modern style, which includes what is called the minimalist look, concentrates on what the object is to be used for. The style itself is usually sleek with no distracting design elements like medallions, curly cues or overpowering pattern. In a house full of modern furniture, no one item should distract from the overall look; it should all flow together nicely.

Pedestal style tables are popular and versatile. These round tables can be used for dining rooms or kitchens with eat in areas. The pedestal base can be made from a variety of materials such as cast aluminum or other metals with a matte or gloss paint surface. The tops of these tables can be made from synthetic materials like heavy plastics, wood and many times natural stone like marble. Round tables are favorites for many as they allow everyone seated at the table an even position; there is no one seated at the head of a table. They also allow diners to spread out and take as much space as they need. Some of the newer offerings have a variation on this classic pedestal. Instead of a solid piece base, their bases are designed like a wire cage that expands out the closer it gets to the top. Many of these have a chrome look that sometimes matches other chrome finishes frequently found in this style of furniture. Pedestal style tables have been popular for decades and it is many times hard to tell a new one from one that is older.

Rectangular tables can be found with a variety of finishes ranging from light oaks to deep, rich browns. Many times the tabletops will feature wood with an interesting pattern but just as often they are painted. Matte finishes and high gloss finishes are equally popular with solid white or solid black being the preferred colors. Styling for legs can vary considerably. Some buyers favor the more solid look of straight up and down matching legs. Others prefer a more tapered leg that is smaller at the bottom than at the top. This gives the eye a more open and airy effect and makes the room look larger.

There are some custom details that can be added to this type of furniture. Some vendors can supply tables in custom colors like burnt orange or poison green for those who like modern with a retro vibe. Many of the modern dining tables can be custom ordered with glass tops.
