Theme Parks at the Miami Seaquarium Attractions
I was recently introduced to the Seaquarium one of the main Miami attractions, Florida and I have to say it was one of the coolest theme parks I have ever been to in my life. I am from Montpelier which is the capital of Vermont and we do not have anything like the marine animal aquarium theme parks anywhere near us that I am aware of.
Even if we did it would have to be indoors because our winters are so freezing and I doubt very much that the tropical marine life would like that very much. Not too long ago I got goaded by a couple of my friends to take a vacation with them to the Miami attractions and activities. I am kind of a homebody and don't really like to stray too far from my natural environment so I was reluctant but they were persistent and finally they got me to go with them.
Miami was a bit of a shock to my system. In all honesty I did not care for it too much about the attractions in Miami except for the Miami Seaquarium. We stayed in South Beach at the Delano Hotel which was a really nice place. I am kind of a simple country guy though and all the fancy glamour and glitter of the Miami atmosphere did not suit me very well. I did kind of like the fact that it was winter time back home we had about 3 feet of snow on the ground. So it was nice to get some warm sunshine on me. I'm not saying we didn't do some really fun things there because there were some things I did like. The Everglades Tour for example and renting jet skis.
However the Miami Seaquarium is the thing that we did that really stuck out the most in my mind. Our concierge at the Delano signed us up for the Miami attractions tour visiting the Seaquarium and I was very thankful for it. The day after we signed up for the tour the bus came early in the morning to pick us up and bring us to the park. The first thing we did was go to the stingray exhibit. this is a 10,000 gallon touch pool where you can feel and feed different varieties of stingrays. After doing this I was hooked, so to speak. From there we went over to see the Miami Seaquarium's biggest attraction which is the Killer Whale and Dolphin Show.
This was pretty much the highlight of our whole day at these Miami attractions. I had never seen a killer whale in person before and it was probably the most impressive thing I have ever seen. The killer whale who is the feature act of the show is named Lolita. Killer whales are so incredibly massive and so graceful for their size. Their intelligence is something that you have to see to believe. And their beautiful shiny black and white skin is just breathtaking. The absolute contrast of their skin color makes them look like living computer graphics models.
After that we went to go see the Golden Dome Sea Lion show in the
Miami attractions tours which is the hilarious adventures of Salty the Sea Lion and it is really a comical routine! The sea lions and seals in the show literally had me laughing out loud. Again I was just awestruck by the intelligence of these animals. After that we went to see the Manatee Presentation which was a neat thing because I had never seen these animals before in my life anywhere.
Believe it or not I did not even realize that creatures like this existed. They are not attractive animals by any means but when you see them swimming through the water they just look so gentle and peaceful. They are an endangered species which is very sad but they are doing a lot at the Miami Seaquarium to make sure they preserve these animals. We did quite a few other things at the Miami Attractions it was so big I don't even know if I got to cover all the ground that I would have liked to. Even though I wasn't that crazy about Miami I do believe I will be back there to vacation even it's only just to see the Miami Seaquarium again.
