Wearing Loafers is more fitting for casual attire while dress shoes (ones with shoe laces) are for more formal wear. Observe the usual dress code; keep your eyes open during interviews and the job offer. If the bosses and the other employees are wearing dress shoes, then you should follow suit. If the norm at the work place is casual attire, then you can wear loafers to work. You should follow the dress code norm at the work to make sure that you will not be over dressed or under dressed.

Which Kind of Loafers Should You Get?
The primary consideration when choosing shoes, loafers included, is what color to get. Darker shades, like black and darker brown, look more formal than lighter shades of shoes. Never wear loafers with formal looking dark suits with neckties. You can only wear dark colored formal loafers, those that have leather soles, can be worn with suits that have lighter shades like blue, beige or tan. Loafers should be taken care of just like any other leather material, to keep them shiny and in good shape. Get a weather protective spray and use it on the loafers before you wear them to keep them looking as new as the day you bought them.
