With the older generation wearing bow ties is a matter of habit and something that they have done for many years and have really no issues with. These gentlemen are experts at being able to self tie their bow ties which have come from many years of practice.

For the younger generation using bow ties is often avoided, as they don't want to go through the hassle of having to tie their bow ties. However, with the pre-tied bow ties readily being available any individual that wishes to wear a bow tie certainly can do so. The individuals that have always worn bowties simply cannot phantom using a pre-tied one as part of the tradition of wearing bow ties is certainly tying it to perfection themselves.

Any individual that wants to be perfectly dressed however really needs to rely on the final touches that the bowtie gives to the overall look. It should be remembered that the classic butterfly is a large bow tie and whether it is pre-tied or self tied it still follows the standard size for individuals. For those that like something that has a little bit of an even more formal look then perhaps the pointed edge would be a good choice. Many men favor the modern butterfly as it seems to fit in with a little bit of all of the other types of choices.
