Mens Fashion Guide To Matching Footwear

By:

When it comes to discussing men's fashion, neckwear, blazers, dress shirts, and leather outwear are always on the front line with footwear receiving little attention. So why can't we turn our attention to the much ignored section and discuss it's place in the gentleman wardrobe. A man's appearance is not complete without footwear. Well fitted pants and footwear complete the image of any outfit and are integral to your comfort.

Color Considerations

Pants, whether they are casual, dress, denim, corduroy or whatever the fabric are usually the most flexible and essential part of any gent's pro wardrobe.

Pants set the tone of a mans wardrobe and also set in motion the overall look and feel of any outfit by anchoring the look completely. For instance, corduroy pants speak comfort, relaxation, sophistication, and maturity that isn't usually found in denim. Similarly, wool pants ooze refinement, high style and class.

Try, whenever you can to match your socks with your pants, unless the pants are denims, in which case your socks should be navy when wearing blue denims, and tan when wearing brown shoes.

If you're thinking of matching your socks with pants, then look for socks that closely match the shade of your pant fabric without necessarily overlapping. A good example is, when you've got a nice choco-colored argyle print sock accentuated in blue, then try matching it with a pair of bark colored or tan casual pants together with a french blue sportshirt.

Your belt should match your footwear always. If you're wearing black pants, then try whenever possible to match with black belt and black shoes. The same applies to brown pants, which should be matched with brown shoes and belt for a more stylish look. With Brown, both colors are acceptable, brown looks excellent on light, wispy summer grey and black matching better with darker, charcoal shades.

Styles, Varieties, and Prints

Since pants are useful in daily living, style, and also for formal dress occasions. It's good that you understand the strength of different varieties and bear in mind a few tips when shopping for a new pair of slacks. Above everything, it's important that you wear well crafted pants, with the hem slightly overlapping the rest of the footwear, and probably cresting the tongue of your shoe with an inch extra.

Pants furling into folds at the bottom have a clownish appearance and pants that are too short to reveal your socks all the time mess up an otherwise good look.

Denim

This is a great option for purchase because it's versatile and fits into every possible event with ease and grace. Most preferred choice when it comes to mens denim is indigo dyed fabrics that have been distressed slightly or extremely in choco or grey tints. Smoke colored jeans are also making their way to prominence especially among young men.

Casual pants and corduroy

The resurgence of the mens trousers in herringbone print is something to consider here. This is a look that is very vintage though retaining a metro and pro aire. Perfectly designed male corduroy that are also accessible are available from Pierre Cardin, these come with a refined herringbone pattern in mocha/brown and black/grey, both stable base colors for the creation of a corporate casual wardrobe or what may you.

Formal dress pants

Regarding formal or dress pants, my recommendation goes to pinstripes and or chalk stripes, these two are very popular and super stylish in line with the current fashion trends. For summer or springtime, look for a light pair of wool slacks with deep white chalk stripe and pair it with a V-neck cardigan and matching dress shirt.

The key to style success is paying attention to ones bottom and striving to build a wardrobe from the ground up. This will ensure that the outcome is flexible and and full of variety and catchy to the eyes.
