Mens Fashion And Lifestyle Advice

By:

Don't be too trusting and especially of retailers dishing out mens fashion offers at every available opportunity. I'm saying this because of the increasing number of bad fashion choices made by men.

In our history, every decade has brought it's fair share of fashion mistakes, and even though this isn't intended as an exhaustive list of fashion faux pas(es), it highlights some of the most notorious fashion pieces that any fashion conscious man must at best avoid. Some of these garments maybe popular in certain subset of the society, nevertheless, they shouldn't be considered chic professional or casual wear.

* Tight/Skinny jeans or any jean type that clings to the leg and stretches all the way down from the waist, avoid this like plague, REASON: This is an extremely feminine styling both in the contemporary consumer style realm as well as in the vintage catalog. It simply looks ridiculous and unprofessional.

* Cowboy hats and bolo hats are a big NO! though popular in part of Canada and the U.S. esp. Texas, such items should be kept for their nostalgic value or in the family museum as a showpiece. And also if you're not a western back-country rocker on a photo-shoot, leave this piece of the western para-phenalia at home.

* Popped collar shirt is another item to avoid. Unless you're proud of the frat boy image associated with it. Popped collar polo were once considered a one season wonder but that was all to it. Plus never make a mistake of combining the popped collar with a leather jacket, you'll be committing a fashion mega sin.

* Many fashion retailers have been gradually reintroducing the four button suit and especially those made of polyester and if you've being thinking of getting one then let me remind you that such suits are very boxy and very constraining for most men minus standard measurements. It's actually debatable whether this type of suit ever saw the summit of style, perhaps a good reason to leave it on the rack.

* "Canadian Tuxedo", if you're wondering what this term means, well, it refers to denim jackets combined with any other denim, such a combo looks weird and hardly coordinates with anything. If the jacket is modern, the wash good and worn with casual pants, then it somehow works fine.

More to add to the stable

The following dying trends consist of some of the worst but there are several classics that are worth to mention.

Urban wear

A code word for ill-made, baggy, loose and gaudy wears - this has experienced waning popularity because of the changing consumer taste that is more focused towards the high end business wear.

Camouflage

This is also coming down the popularity index since the 90's, it's very difficult to get outfits made of this in the market today. And though most fashion blogs focus on the classic fashion labels and up and coming types, this is one of the worst of the category that any man should avoid in his wardrobe.
