Mens Fashion - Tailored To Suit Your Style

By:

In Victorian times, when a gentleman decided to outfit himself with a suit, he had to spend hours standing as straight and still as a reed in order for the tailor to fit his buckskins and waistcoat just right. Things have certainly come a long way since and in more modern times you will find that getting measured is not as excruciating an exercise. Having said that, there is often still the need to measure, alter and fit a suit in order to make it perfect for you- your size and style.

Getting Measured for that Perfect Fit
With modern advances in fabric and sizing, getting a suit tailor made for your specific frame is easier than many people would think. Hallelujah! There is no longer any reason for you to stand at attention for decades while a strange man fusses over your inseam and makes illegible little notes on a little note pad.

Despite the fact that you dont actually have to spend time at the tailor, you still need to know your physical measurements in order to find and fit a suit. How does one accomplish measurements when it is difficult to read a measuring tape while it is upside down? Why not have a friend do it. Keep in mind that, when getting measured for a suit, you will need to have your inseam measured. The inseam measurement makes it quite necessary to have the measuring tape and the measurers hand awfully close to your groin. With that in mind, you will want to ask a trusted male friend, or even girlfriend, to do the measuring for you. No one wants their private area invaded by less than trustworthy people.

Taking Measurements the Easy Way
If your job or lifestyle requires that you wear a suit, then you would definitely have purchased a suit before. If that is the case, purchasing another suit should be as easy as pie. If you have another suit hanging in your closet, then it should be even easier to find out your suit size without having the hassle and embarrassment of having to be measured.

Mix N Match to Save Your Sanity
When trying to purchase suits on a budget, mixing and matching is probably the best way to go. Mixing and matching simply means that you find suits close to your size and wear suit coats and trousers that are not from the same set. This allows you to create the illusion of a larger wardrobe without having to empty your bank account and sell your Harley. Purchasing suits should not be like pulling fingernails. Mixing and matching saves time, money, and your sanity- all of which are very precious.

Yes, tailors have a long and glorious history as being the mans man, the only one that knows the secrets of your inseam, but you should only have to visit one when the suit you are wearing must absolutely, positively fit you to obscene perfection. An example of this would be the tuxedo you are planning to wear to your wedding. Yes, renting a tux is fine, but getting one tailor made for your size and frame is like coating yourself in chocolate- your lady will lick her lips and thank God you are hers.
