Historically, memory foam has been around all the way back since 1966, when it was created under contract by NASA as a material to increase the safety of certain materials on space craft. How crazy is it to think that since then, the process has been used to make a product that helps you to sleep at night. From NASA to your bedroom, indeed!

Typically you will either order one online or go into a store to purchase one, and if you don't have a large enough vehicle to carry it, you may have to have it shipped from the store, though many places will do that for no extra charge.
