Many Options In Women's Knitwear

By:

Women have always enjoyed a tremendous advantage over men when it comes to the variety and range of clothing styles they can enjoy. This advantage is well represented in women's knitwear where the number of forms and patterns have not only galvanized the knitting industry into producing better output but have also given women the choice and freedom to experiment with a floral print or a form-fitting sweater pretty easily.

Some of the more common examples of this creativity and range are as under:

a) Women are wearing more knit sweaters due to the greater variety now available. From standard necklines to V-necks and to the more formal cowl-neck, women are not at all showing any inhibitions of trying any of them out. They are also encouraged by the availability of different designs as well as sizes. This does not imply that the old-fashioned styles are out of favour. There is just much better choice today than ever and they are able to combine the traditional with the contemporary.

b) Winter brings in a lot of demand for knit dresses. Women are trying out tunics along with the usual form fitting ones. They also do not mind trying out sheath dresses along with the usual simple floral prints to break monotony.

c) Tunics came into the reckoning in the 90s and have remained popular since then. Tops have been normally low cut and have sashes to ensure the top is in place despite not it not being too form-fitting. Now they are also available in knitwear and needless to say are very sought after thanks to the great variety in colours and sizes.

d) Womens knitwear cardigans hardly require any introduction considering they have been around for so long. The most common style has been the long sleeved one with a closed neck. The versatility of this garment and comfort has ensured that it is a favourite with most women and they have been pretty active in using them for both casual as well as for formal occasions.

The above are just a few examples of knitwear clothing and you are sure to find more when you visit stores or browse the internet. Many knitwear types of clothing are such that they are tough to differentiate from normal cotton dresses. Women are also choosing jackets, shawls, vests, throws, hoodies as well as cape jackets made out of knitwear.

Another fabric besides cashmere that is being increasingly used for knitwear products is Merino wool. This is an eco-friendly fabric that is made out of sheep wool. These sheep are reared specifically in Australia as well as in New Zealand for this purpose and the wool quality is extremely fine and crimped. It is being used to make sportswear for women athletes as it has the properties of adjusting to body temperature and not allowing moisture to make contact with the skin. It also can retain warmth for a longer period of time.

Womens knitwear has indeed come a long way since the early days and women have a plethora of options.
