Making Money On The Road

Making Money On The Road

By:

I was watching a show about a popular pawn shop in Las Vegas, where people take in their treasures or their junk in the hopes of scoring quick cash. I was surprised to see how much junk, left and festering in people's storage unites, as some real monetary value, and I was also motivated to see if I could find some of these things myself. I've done pretty well on selling things online, and once got about $500 for a book that someone was going to throw away and ended up giving it to me for free.

When I saw how valuable some of the items that they brought in were, I was excited about selling some things for myself. One of the coolest things that was brought into the pawn shop was a vintage Harley Davidson motorcycle. Anything with the Harley Davidson logo on it seems to appreciate in value, and an old Harley Davidson bike could go for a whole pile of cash.

One of my lodge brothers ended up becoming the head of the local chapter of the Bikers Against Child Abuse, and one day he came to one of our meetings on one of his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He told us that he was trying to sell it. He had two or three other motorcycles and decided, for whatever reasons to sell the one he was riding.

His asking price was right around $12,000, but from some of the shows I've seen on TV and the sales that are posted online, I am pretty sure that he could get a much better price with a little time and effort. If he threw in one of his Harley Davidson mens leather jackets, I'm sure he could find a buyer who would be more than happy to pay about $1000 or so more just to have a matching set.

So we'll see what happens. I may go out and start picking around at some of the local bike clubs, or I may just do it virtually with some of the free service sites that are out there. I love buying something for one price, and then turning around and selling it for another much higher price. I especially like finding things for free and then selling them for a better price. I know I could find some people that would be willing to pay for Harley Davidson mens leather jackets and other items gleaned from genuine bike clubs in our area.
