He was the absolute coolest guy in school. Every week, sometimes it seemed like every day, he'd come in with a fresh new shirt with a cool catchphrase, totally original graphic or a swear word. Sure he would get sent to the principal's office when his phrases and swear words got too intense or incited some sort of school wide use of the smut he was wearing, but we all knew he was our king. We didn't know how he did it. How could one kid afford all those new shirts? And who was printing shirts with warped looking characters from the Fox TV show Parker Lewis Can't Lose and "catchphrases" that would make Andrew Dice Clay want to wash your mouth out with soap? Where were these shirts coming from?

Many years later I bumped into J.D., who now goes by the surprising moniker Jeremy Dison CPA. He looked different, happy, but less cool certainly. He suddenly had an approachability that in high school I never noticed. So I asked him about those awesome shirts. He laughed and talked about how his father, a graphic designer had a fancy computer before anyone else, and how he used their printer to make iron on graphics.
