The first step in constructing a cornhole game is to get the right tools and supplies. The supplies that you will need will be two 2'x 4'pieces of A/C plywood, four pieces of 2" x 4" board 46 inches long, two pieces of 2" x 4" inch board 2'long, four pieces of 2" x 4" inch board 1' long, wood glue, one box 2" inch wood screws, wood filler, a compass,a ruler, a drill, 100 grit sandpaper, 220 grit sandpaper, tack cloth or wet towel six wood clamps,a jigsaw, four three inch hinges and two saw horses.

Set saw horses up that will allow for one of the 2'x 4' plywood boards to be placed on it. Make sure that the (A) side is placed facing up. Precisely measure where the start of the hole should be located on the board. Start by taking the ruler and measuring nine inches down from the top of the board. The measure 12 inches from the side of the board. Where these two points intersect place a mark. A compass is placed on the mark and a six inch diameter circle is then drawn. With a jigsaw cut along this circumference. Sandpaper can be used to smooth the hole.

Preparing the 2"x 4" boards to be secured to the plywood is the next step. The plywood needs to be have the C side facing up. Using the wood glue apply a generous coating of it on the 2" portion of the 24 inch 2"x 4" board. Then place the board on the bottom of the plywood so it is going straight across. Then attach wood clamps so the board will stay in place. Using wood glue apply a generous coating of it on the two inch portion of two of 46 inch 2"x 4" boards. Then attach wood clamps so the boards will stay in place.

Once the clamps are holding the boards in place the plywood should be turned over. The (A) side of the plywood should now be facing up. Measurements for where screws should be drilled is the next step. Measure in one inch from each side of the board and make a straight line down the entire board. Measure up one inch from the bottom of the board and make a line across the bottom of the board. Using a ruler make marks eight inches apart from each other on all lines. This is where the screws will be drilled. Drill the screws on these marks. Once the screws are in place remove the wood clamps. Then apply wood filler over where the screws are located.

Flip the board over so that the C side is now facing up. The hinges need to now be attached. On the top left side of the board measure in three inches. Place the bottom of the hing flat against the board with the elbow portion aligning with the very top of the board. Drill screws into the holes in the bottom portion of the hinge. The top part of the hinge now should be connected to one of the 12 inch 2'x 4' boards. Take the hinge and lay it flat against one of the 4" portions of the board at the bottom of it. Drill in the screws to the hinges. The same same steps should be used to attach a hinge to the right side of the board.

The plywood is now ready to be sanded in preparation for painting or applying your design. Two types of sandpaper are used to prepare the board. The first type is 100 grit. Use this first on the board. A 220 grit sandpaper should be used after the 100 grit. This method will provide a smoother surface for applying your design. A wet towel or a tack cloth should be used to remove any particles from the board after it's sanded.

There are many different designs that can be added to boards. The board is now prepared so that a design can be applied. Follow the same steps to produce another board and you have a set of cornhole boards!
