In the past you would have found it hard to find too many people bashing affiliate marketing. It was new and it was an exciting concept. Today affiliate marketing bashing is more common than ever. I disagree with that and it really makes me mad. In this article I want to show you how you can still make money with affiliate marketing.

First of all, I should probably not say you can still make money with affiliate marketing. The reason for that is that some people have never made any money as an affiliate selling other peoples stuff. The reasons that you can make money are the exact reasons that they are not. Let me explain.

Most successful Internet marketers will tell you that you cannot use your affiliate webpage if you want to make money as an affiliate marketer. The reason for that is everyone else is already doing that.

One big key to making money online is to try and be different and you cannot be different if you are using the same website that everybody else already has.

For years, I heard the saying the money is in the list. I also heard that the fortune is in the follow-up. Now today, more than ever, those two statements ring true. To make money with affiliate marketing, you need to concentrate on promoting what is called a landing page.

A landing page is also referred to as a splash page. This is a single webpage that you send your visitors to and trade them their contact information for something of value from you. You then feed their contact information into an autoresponder where you follow-up over and over promoting various affiliate products that you sell.

This is still a great strategy and an excellent way to make money as an affiliate. The only thing that's really different about this now is once you've fed them into your autoresponder you redirect them to your blog.

This is where they then have an opportunity to subscribe to your RSS feed. Now every time you post in your blog, they can receive the updates for it from your feed.

Let's see if we can quickly summarize this article. Yes, you can make money with affiliate marketing. No you should not do what everybody else is doing. Instead you should build your own landing page and try and capture contact information for future follow-up. You'll need an e-mail autoresponder and a blog to correctly do this.

If you're willing to learn the basics, you can make not only a little money with affiliate marketing, you can make a lot of money!
