Make Loot Not Money

By:

Capt. Jak here,

Today's economic situation has thrown me on a new course; one that is very appealing and also a bit scary. The lure of making money on my own from my own computer is very compelling. However after short study I soon realized how much effort was involved to generate income. I began to lose my motivation quickly and started reviewing the want ads. This sent a quiet rage down my spine - why was I failing? I realized that my on-line business was missing a crucial component only I could provide. My vision was lacking...me, my personal, unique spin of the world that gives character to my business; and more importantly, keeping me motivated through the hard climb of success.
I started investigating online how to's. My first assumptions were quite simple:
I need to generate large sums of wealth
My work must be mobile
All work must be done through the internet
I began my exploration of online business's and how people make money. Blogs, Videos, Affiliate marketing were the terms I studied. I quickly learned that all the programs had one thing in common. All the products were systems for making money or personal strategies to follow. However all of them had one small but crucial flaw. Like a done up bride without a groom near by, the other side of the relationship was missing. The user was not properly represented.
I learned quite a bit at the way business was being done online - quite boring frankly. Most of the online business sites looked like they were all bought from the same store. I wanted my own concept, something that stirred my emotions each day, even when my spirits would undoubtedly fail at times. I needed something much greater than just a product. This is when I remembered my voyage to China.
China is a fascinating county on a scale that you have to see to understand. I came to understand that the ancient and modern Chinese added an extra element of value in their buildings. The architecture goes beyond just functional use. Inherit in the structure is an artistic quality that gives the thing beauty. That extra consciences element of beauty raises the value beyond functional means alone. I knew that I must apply this principle to my own life as well. Therefore, I created my own site. I deliberately picked my theme to be something that would envelop me each day and play off of my dreams. I didn't want to create another job that I must do. I wanted to do something that gave me the feeling of adventure but also rewarded me. This is why the term loot is used and not money. Loot has the element of mystery, the unknown, and plotting creative pathways to wealth.
I choose my words very wisely for the difference between money and loot may be the difference between living for yourself or slowly wasting away. The word loot has certain legal ramifications, which I do not subscribe too. Yet, the same word has an adventurous quality unlike dull words such as money. For too many years I worked 9 hours a day, 5 days a week for money, which provided only enough to reach work the next day. I was land locked.
My spirits sunk into a black cauldron. My curiosity for life was slowly being snuffed. What had happened to my dreams of sailing the world, developing things of my own mind, living full with people of life and vitality? Where was my choice?
My freedom had been purchased, sold out to the highest bidder to employers whom shared no concern for my personal dreams. It was at this point I said, "Enough," I realized that my greatest success working for others still comes up wanting, against the worst failures I may encounter under my own feet. I am alive now; I'm not sure about the after-life, but I know I have this life at minimum, maybe more-maybe none? I decided not to waste it on other people's madness. I have plenty; if you follow...I decided I must try.
Therefore, I became captain of my own vessel on the pursuit of loot. If this seems strange to you that's unfortunate, because by using the word loot it's much easier and fun to work each morning. I step into my role as commander and start to sail towards my destiny- the pursuit of loot.
