Looking For Cheap Villas Holidays?

The best way to see sun, sea and sand is on cheap villas holidays. Europe is full of holiday villas, ranging from budget accommodation that won't break the bank, to luxurious multi-bedroom villas with their own private pools.

When to go?

Unlike the UK, the rest of Europe is usually basking in sunshine for the whole of the summer months, and the heat tends to increase the further south you travel. For comfortable temperatures, or if you prefer a milder temperature, avoid travelling during July and August. These are the peak months and tend to be when temperatures are at their highest.

Southern countries especially such as Spain and Portugal can get very hot during these months, and you'll need to be near to water if you sit out in the sun for regular cooling-off dips.

If you don't have children of school age, it's wise to avoid these month anyway as this is when the school holidays are, meaning resorts are at their busiest. If you prefer lying on a sun bed minus the sound of screaming brats, choose the months either side of these two for your holiday.

Prices are also generally higher during peak months, so you'll save on cheap villas holidays if you travel outside of peak times.

Where to go?

This all depends on what you are looking for. If it's purely a beach holiday you want, any coastal resort in Spain or Portugal is great because you're almost guaranteed sunshine for most of your holiday.

Portugal's southern coast is home to the Algarve, a once-pricey destination whose prices have somewhat reduced in recent years. Here you will find miles and miles of rugged coastline, with dramatic red cliffs and choppy surf. It is also less 'tacky' than other resorted areas of Europe.

Albufeira is the largest resort on the Algarve, and boasts a lively nightlife scene as well as huge beaches. Travel here if you enjoy fresh seafood; the restaurants are teeming with seafood bought fresh the same morning from the local fishermen whose boat lights you can watch twinkling at night out on the dark ocean.

For island fun, head to the Canaries. These islands, although belonging to Spain, are situated off the coast of North Africa, and get very hot in the summer. Each island has its own character, with Lanzarote and Tenerife being the most lively for night life and bars.
Wherever you head to, be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen!
