Look Into Becoming An Mt

By:

For quite some time I never gave much thought to being a Medical Transcriptionist. That was until I got injured on the job and found myself needing some of employment. A friend of mind came to me and suggested that I look into become an MT. I could still go to my doctors appointments, do my therapy and support my family. Taking into consideration that I don't sit well in front of a computer very well I found that I had to do some soul searching. How can I support my family and heal the way I need to. I am still employed, but my boss does not want me back until I am 100% better. Not knowing how long that may be make supporting my family difficult, especially on workman's compensation.
These being the thoughts that are always on my mind, I decided to look into becoming an MT. The job is stable and the average salaries for medical transcription are great, plus, and this is great for me, I can still go to school. I have a 4, 3 and 2 year old at home and they love having their papa home. Though I can't play with them like I used to, they still like having me around. My wife is very active in the community and it would be of great help to her as well. However important these ideas are to me there are others that stand out even more so. Let us go back to the ideas of school. My degree of choice, when I do go back, is nursing. After seven plus years as a CNA it makes great sense to finish and become a full fledged registered nurse. Now the advantage in all this is the fact that my experience as a CNA has given me a larger base in medical terminal than most in my area of medicine. SN:0TG9Y2ESY
The medical transcription program alone would help to provide a better understanding of the terminology used in medicine and since it is a required course in college I would have a better chance at doing well in the course. In addition I feel that being an MT will prepare me to be better nurse in many ways. The most important way is the ability to explain procedures and terms in a away the patient can understand. Future MT was the first program i found and is established with the Better Business Bureau and offers some kind of scholarship. I took a couple of years off from working as a CNA to see if there were other areas in life that worked just as well for me as the medical field has. What I have found is a lot of accumulate pain. First the loss of my own business, multiple moves trying to take care of family and trying to get ourselves on top of life again. My wife getting sick and almost dying on two different occasions didn't help to regain a focus but added to a sense of missing something. I started working longer away from home and adding to the stress in my own home life. Recently my wife told me that I am too talented in medicine to throw away what God has given me. My hope and my goal is to work as an MT while getting my RN and using a both jobs to help support my family and someday open a home for children. So in one year I want to be financially stable if not out of debt, in five I want to have my RN degree and working in an Emergency Room and in 10 I what to have a home for children.
