Look Good And Feel Confident In Trendy Women's Clothing

By:

It's one thing to wear trendy women's clothing when you are a mature adult. It's another thing to be dressing like a mature adult, and not necessarily a trendy one, when you are still in elementary school. Take it from someone who knows.

I was the oldest child in my family, and not having any siblings ahead of me to pave the way and teach my mom that there's a difference between what looks cool on her and what looks cool at school, I made it all the way through my school career basically dressing like a mom.

I was grateful that my parents were willing to purchase my clothing when so many of my friends had to save up money to purchase their own, and I think that I was afraid that I would seem ungrateful if I ever questioned my mom's taste.

Like most kids, I wanted to feel like a grown up so I thought it was a great compliment when my teachers and my mom's friends would tell me how mature I looked. Looking back at pictures from my grade school days I can't believe some of the outfits that I thought were cool that were really more eccentric and grandmotherish than anything else. I still wouldn't be caught dead wearing most of the grown up styles that I was wearing through junior high school.

I remember how nervous I was when I went out and bought my first pair of flare style jeans. Everyone else had been wearing them for years, but I never had the courage to ask my mom if I could get some. The first time I wore them I was so afraid that my mom wasn't going to approve, because my low rise flares were nothing like the pants my mom would have bought. It was so liberating wearing the pants that I wanted to wear when instead of the ones my mom would have chosen with a waistline that went all the way up to my belly button.

Even as I've gotten a little older and realize that I'm grown up enough to shop around looking for trendy women's clothing, I find myself making doubly sure that I will never fall back into the eccentric grandmotherish styles that my mom inflicted upon me. A lot of people think that it's impossible to look cute and be a professional at the same time, but I'm here to tell you that it's definitely possible. Whether you're a student in grade school or your teaching school yourself, you can find your own kind of style that will leave you looking good and feeling confident.
