The Albertine Wine Bar has been serving fine wines and cheese to patrons for over 20 years. It features old church pews and wooden tables, but serves some excellent vintages, and is a nice, intimate spot for a quiet evening. The bar is on Wood Lane. Babylon at the Roof Gardens is on Kensington High Street, is on the rooftop of Kensington Roof Gardens. The outdoor seating is perfect to escape the heat in the summer and enjoy the panoramic views of London's West End. Fish, steak, and barbeque entrees are on the menu to enjoy, before spending the evening dancing. Bar Local (Fulham) is one of the spots for great drinks including their signature Mojito, especially with a dash of pineapple juice. Its a quiet spot on week nights, and on the weekend, they have live jazz.

Some of the most popular dance clubs in London are Fabric, with five sound systems to really "feel" the music, and three bars on two different levels. The Ministry of Sound London is another popular late night dance club, where 5,000 people go to party every weekend. The Ministry has three dance floors and three bars. One of the more unusual clubs is the club Aquarium with its own Jacuzzi and pool. The club also has two dance floors. Herbal, in the Shoreditch/Hoxton area, is in a converted warehouse with different DJ's playing music on weekends. Club 49 is one of the more popular nightspots in SoHo with DJ's all night long. the staff is friendly and accommodating. Cafe de Paris is an upscale club with a professional, young clientele. A cafe is on the mezzanine level overlooking the packed dance floor.

If theater and classical music are more to your liking, the Almeida Theater stages new and classic plays and the prices are less than you'd normally pay for good theatrical productions. The Almeida features the Festival of Contemporary Music held annually during June and July. The theater is located on Almeida Street. The Barbican Centre is the permanent home of the London Symphony Orchestra and has performances by orchestras from other cities, as well as classical, jazz, and world music. the Open-air theater is an outdoor theater in Regents Park that offers period plays, mainly Shakespearean. Performers are usually in costume, and plays are presented evenings at 8 p.m. from June until September. Drinks and food are served at the theater bar. The royal Drury lane Theater usually features musicals that have had long runs on Broadway, but has a variety of performances. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
