As previously stated, the introduction of navigation through the color touch screen, not just buttons, is what makes the remote stand apart. The touch screen itself is easy to see coming in at 3.5 inches. Because of this large screen there can be up to ten different commands and icons viewable onscreen at the same time. The Harmony 1100 can control over 225,000 devices from 5000 different brands. This is done through a USB/ computer connection. Because of that, your remote will always be updated and capable of handeling anything you could buy in the future.

You choose the way you want to set up your controls. The Harmony 1100 groups functions together to for a one button activity. That means that when you want to go from watching a Blu-Ray to watching your DVR, all that is acomplished with one touch of the screen. You can arrange the on-screen commands the way you want them, and even customize them. You set up the remote with what you need to get the job done. No more navigating a variety of entertainment components with multiple remotes and/or a complicated sequence of commands, which often require a set of written instructions.

There's no need for extra batteries because there's a docking station and a lithium rechargeable battery. You also have RF wireless capability that lets you control devices without direct line-of-sight, so you can keep components in a closed cabinet or even another room (requires Logitech Harmony RF Extender, sold separately). All the buttons are well back lit. You can personalize your navigations screens with customizable commands, favorite channel icons and more. The Harmony 1100 replaces up to 15 other remotes.
