List Of 5 Link Bait Blog Topics

By:

Anybody who has surfed the internet has read a link bait blog post. These are the posts that make a list of excellent resources or contribute gold standard advice that you can come back to over and over. Writing one of these link bait blog posts can bring you hundreds, if not thousands, of bookmarkers and one-way back links. These are the sort of posts that great blogs thrive on. So, if you want to build a link bait post, what do you make it about? Use the following ideas to motivate you:

1. Make a list of what you think the top ten affiliate programs for blog owners are. The secret here is not to just rattle them off one after the other, but write a paragraph on each one of them detailing your experience with that particular program. Supply links to the sign-up page and the FAQ page. A list like this will attract repeat visitors like a magnet. I can tell you that I have a post just like this bookmarked in my favorites, helps when choosing a new affiliate program.

2. Write a top ten list of your favorite plug-ins. It can be Wordpress Plug-ins, Firefox, or anything else that would benefit your readers. Again, don't just list them, talk about them and how your experience with them has been. Maybe set aside a whole category where you will list them over the course of ten days, after each one you can add a quick user poll to see if people agree with your choice. Anything to encourage interactivity.

3. Another good idea is composing a list of the leading link bait blog posts in your topic? This is a terrific way to capitalize on other blog's success, and also they would always be thankful for the link back. This way, readers get ten times the advantage by having links to gold standard posts right from one web page. Doing a list like this would take some exertion, but that is what the entire point of link bait posts are: you are doing the web searching and linking effort for the reader, so they don't have to do it themselves. Members adore these kinds of posts.

4. You could compose a list of the greatest SEO tools for bloggers. The best thing about this is that it has your own perspective built right in. Let's be real, there are a thousand SEO tools on the internet, and people could dispute for decades over which one is better for this or that. This is precisely the kind of back and forth exchange you are looking for with a post like this. Put your own perspective on it, too, possibly do the list on video or something uncommon like that.

5. This method is a little bit more complex, create a tool that everyone can use for free but need to go to your blog to use it. Just to name a few examples: a translator, word counter, or keyword density tool. Those are the type of thing that save people time and you might be able to get a script for nothing someplace on the internet. The best way to do this is to think up an idea for a straightforward tool (don't have to reinvent the wheel here) that would be helpful to bloggers, and then put up a project request on Elance or another freelance auction site. You would be amazed at how cheap you can get something custom made for you, then you would be able to say that you created it, and call it your own. I know this is a amazing example, but look at Google's Keyword Tool; how many millions of times do people use that every single day right?
