Lg Have Given The Pop A Metallic Finish, The Bodywork Is Well-designed And Very Slim

For the cheapest 3inch touch screen phone on the market today, look no further than the LG Pop; the GD510 Pop is a super lightweight, slim line smartphone with a digital camera and full web browser, it also utilises Bluetooth technology and has a microSD slot which will take up to 8GB. LG have pre-installed to device with the A-Class interface which paints a pretty picture; its playful and very user friendly.
LG have given the Pop a metallic finish, the bodywork is well-designed and very slim making the Pop pocket-able and palm-able, the minimalistic design allows for only one button; LG call it the Smart Key and it handles call/end, clear and back functions. The interface is packed full of colourful icons and menus and effects when sweeping your way through various screens. LGs A-Cass overlay is made up of three linked home screens; the main screen enables you to use mini widget applications, you can place any app you wish on the home screen and by giving your phone a shake you can neatly order them. LiveSquare is another of the three main pages, it is pretty cool; it displays your most used or favourite contacts as mini animated avatars which can be dragged and dropped onto the toolbar below to select a form of communication, the background these little creatures roam around is interchangeable. The user interface on the Pop is so user friendly a toddler would find it easy.
You can tell LG have made cuts to keep the handset affordable and the main area where the evidence is clear is the web browser; though a full browser has been pre-loaded into the software, Wi Fi and 3G havent meaning you rely on slightly weaker data networks, the overall experience is not that bad providing you stick to mobile optimised websites, full web pages can take a minute or two to load and some of the Flash heavy sites fail to load at all, then again the Pop can be forgiven for this as the cost of the phone will surely leave a few pounds in your back pocket. LG have also supplied Pop users with a SNS application which allows full management for MySpace, Twitter and Facebook accounts.
The 3 mega pixel digital camera housed by the LG Pop will just about handle your day-to-day photography needs, it does a pretty good job of defining colours though picture detail is at times a little lacklustre; it lacks both auto focus and flash and the 3 mega pixel lens can struggle to create a clear image at times, you can also use the camera to record videos, it is not great but once more, the phone costs about as much as an ironing board. The device supports video playback for mp4 and 3gp files and they can be watched in portrait or landscape mode, compliments of the auto-rotate technology built into the display. The music player is probably the one field where the LG Pop shines; the interface is very easy to control and the controls are well sized and easy to operate, when you load tracks onto the phone they are automatically sorted into recognizable categories; artist, album, genre... the player allows you to shuffle through your tunes efficiently and you can tinker with the equaliser options to generate the sound you want
The LG GD510 Pop is the most affordable touch sensitive smartphone on the market and for what LG are asking you to pay youre getting a pretty good little package. The Pop looks very nice; it is sleek and professional, the interface is remarkably simple and very playful and though the online aspects of the device are a little dated they are still there. This phone will be very popular as it is very accessible, very useable and very god looking. You have to give LG credit, they have done it again!
