Its 6:30 AM. You hear your alarm going off. You get out of bed and go take a shower. Now it's time to get the kids moving and ready to go to school. Then you find yourself rushing around trying to get ready for work.

You barely have time for a bowl of cereal. You figure youll grab a cup of coffee on the way to work.

Oh no! You've cut your commute too close again. If you don't hit the road in ten minutes or less, you're ride gets twenty minutes longer - making you late. Again.

When you finally get to work, you rush in hoping no one notices that you are a couple of minutes late. You turn on your computer and read through all of the tedious emails that are waiting for you.

Then you look at your schedule for the day. Meetings, paperwork, more meetings, and more paperwork. You are starting to wonder if there is any way you could leave all of this behind, but still be able to take care of yourself and your family.

I can tell you that the answer to that question is a definite yes.

Because, you see, the internet has changed the gameforever.

It has created a level playing field. It provides us with the opportunity to run our business from wherever we want, whether that's the comfort of our own home, or on a beach somewhere.

Now, if you're looking for a job, where you will receive a weekly paycheck and have someone looking over your shoulder while you work at home, you probably dont need to read on.

However, if you are looking for a way to create real financial and real time freedom in your life, then it is crucial that you read all the way through.

Let's go over a couple of important basic concepts first.

Think about everyone you know for a minute. What percentage of them are using the internet every day? I think we can agree it's probably a fairly large number.

That's exactly why the internet has changed things forever. Every week, every month, and every year, more and more people spend more time online.

More people shop online each year.

More people go online to get the news.

More poeple are joining social networks each year.

Im sure you know that Facebook gets the 2nd highest amount of traffic on the internet. The only site that gets more traffic is Google. All of us are spending more time on the internet. Period.

This is why, if you want true financial and time freedom, you must embrace the internet and learn the skills necessary to market online.

"Job security" is the other concept I would like to talk about. I can think back to when I were first starting an online home business. There were people, some more vocal than others, that thought I was just a little crazy.

Some people were worried I was getting involved in some kind of scam or something. Nothing could have been farther from the truth, but fear of the unknown can make people say things like that.

It's too bad that network marketing is so widely misunderstood. Many people make snap judgements based on what they may or may not have heard from others. In my experience, sometimes those people don't even really know why they have misgivings about this industry.

The truth is that I have more security because no one can take away what I have built. Nobody can decide tomorrow that I am expendable. Nobody can put me into the next group of layoffs. I am in control of what happens to me and my business

I dont have to go to a job that I loathe and hope I dont lose it. Of course I understand that there is a sense of security in a steady paycheck, and many aren't prepared to take that leap of faith. It can be scary, and for some, maybe too scary.

However, you are still reading this, so you must believe on some level that there is a better way. You dont have to live paycheck to paycheck and you can work from home.

Having a legitimate home business is possible for anyone who really wants it. You get to spend more time with your kids. You get to set your own schedule. You can take as many vacations as you want, when you want.

How Do You Know Whats A Legitimate Work From Home Opportunity?

Trust me. I know just how many opportunities you come across on the internet every day. Who can you believe? What's legitimate? What's real?

Here are some guidelines that will help you when trying to find the right opportunity for you.

1. Do you have to spend any money? We've all heard the saying: "You get what you pay for." Well, if you're paying nothing, ponder what you may be getting in return.

Many people ironically feel that if they have to spend any money to start a business online, its a scam. I can't say I've ever really understood that mentality.

Let's pretend we are talking about a traditional offline business. What business do you know of that requires no capital to start?

Exactly.

Im not saying you should throw your money at anyone who wants to take it, but be prepared that you are going to have to invest some money and that certainly doesnt mean its not legitimate. In fact, its quite the opposite.

2. Are there promises of tens of thousands of dollars in less than 30 days with hardly any work involved? Big red flag here. First of all, its rare to come off the street and be a success in 30 days.

The network marketing industry does in fact provide a wonderful platform where you can make a lucrative income in a short period of time. However, you will actually have to do work, and be prepared for it to take longer than 30 days for you to be able to quit your job.

3. Dont be afraid if you have to fill out an application. This one you should welcome. This means that the opportunity you're looking at doesnt just let anyone in.

Don't necessarily shun this, because it can be good for you. This means they are serious entrepreneurs looking for qualified prospects, and this will help ensure you will attract more qualified consultants in the future onto your team.

4. When you're looking for a mentor who will be your sponsor, look for someone who is a leader and who is serious about this business. Try to find someone you feel comfortable with and connect with, and who will be there to guide you and help you with your business.

The last piece of advice I can give is to do your due diligence and dont be afraid to listen to your gut. Typically your gut is right, whether it's saying something or someone is good or bad.

Don't forget to always do your due diligence every step of the way though. There are so many legitimate work from home opportunities out there that will allow you to start your own online home business. Remember to always be open-minded and not be afraid to look at something new.
