I am about to give you a handful of suggestions that give you self defense that I know work very well in combat situations. Over the years I have spent time trying to stay out of trouble and even alive when I did prison time. Right now I actively work as a bouncer, but for my whole life I have always been a martial artist. I have been in more real life or death battles then most blackbelts so the following martial arts tips I am about to give you are the real deal. I know this stuff works because I have used it and still use it to this day to keep myself from getting hurt. If you want serious information when it comes to street based self defense the following key points I have laid out below will give you what you want to know.

The first best street self defense move - Never think twice about biting your opponent if it's the only way you can win a fight or gain an opportunity in the battle. I have had people come running up and try choking me out in the nightclub I work out, because I kicked out their friends. Typically I bite their hand which unlocks the hold and allows me to dismantle them while protecting myself. It can be dangerous with blood based illnesses so I only recommend you use this technique if you think your life is at serious risk of ending. This is a survival technique and it works and most importantly most opponents won't expect this and when you do it, it shocks them and causes intensive pain.

The second best street self defense move - When you are throwing kicks at your opponent you want to keep them from his waist and lower. You don't want to try high kicks, especially if you are not skilled. The risk of being subdued or thrown to the floor from having a kick get caught by your attacker is a pretty bad situation to be in. That is why you want to aim your kicks based at the kneecaps, shins, groin, outer and inner thighs. Foot stomps are great too and if you can stomp your opponents ankle causing it break or sprain the advantage is yours if he is trying to cause you serious injury.

The third best street self defense move - You need to actively practice self defense scenarios with as much realism as possible. If you can't afford martial arts classes you can practice with friends at the park. Just look into training on the internet, buying books, videos whatever you can get your hands on. But the most important thing is that you practice. Even if this means going to Wal Mart and buying sparring gear from the sports section. You need to incorporate realism into your self defense training to give you the response and reaction time to handle a real life or death battle easier by knowing ahead of time what to do.

These are my main bread and butter suggestions when it comes to protecting yourself in a life or death battle on the streets. Being able to protect youself is something you must learn to do. Protecting the people you love is another thing you must do, and being prepared for street based self defense is important. If you can enroll in a dojo or buy a book or take a seminar by all means do it!
