There has always been a fascination for people when it comes to tarot card reading. It has been ridiculed by many, but the idea of learning about a person's future by reading symbols on card has always generated interest because of the mystery that surrounds it.

Tarot card reading is done to gain an insight in to a person's future. This is done by reading tarot card which are said to tap into a spiritual energy. The process is called divination. There are three sets of cards, and at a tarot card reading they will only make use of one of these sets.

The Rider-Waith deck is the most common tarot cards that you get. You can recognize them by the simple drawings on the face of the cards. Early versions of the tarot card made use of color to determine the outcome of a tarot reader's predictions.

The other two decks are the Book of Thoth and the Mythic Tarot decks. The Thoth makes use of signs of the zodiac and also makes use of astrology signs. The Mythic deck make use of the Greek mythology and it's characters.

The first thing that will happen at a tarot card reading is that the card reader will shuffle the card. The cards will then be laid out in front of you in a specific format, and face down. There are various ways tarot readers might do the layout of the cards. Each of these layouts have a special question that needs to be asked and answered by the initial card of each layout that is called the significator.

The most common layout is called the Horse-shoe layout. Seven cards are laid out in a half circle and then they are turned over from left to right. The symbols on the tarot cards gives answers to important questions about the subject's future as well as their history.

Another common layout is called the Tetractys. This lays the tarot card out in four rows in the shape of a pyramid where each row represents Fire, Water, Air and Earth. The top card is called the significator and is used as the basis of what question is to be answered.

The Celtic Cross is also another very common layout where the tarot card reading will mean that ten cards are placed in the shape of a cross. The central card being the significator.
