The most-visited site in Rishikesh, the bridge garners its reputation not only from mythical tales but because of the more tangible temples and shrines that have been built around it. One of the temples is called the Terah Manzil; its a 13-storey structure with a spectacular view from the top. Another temple that is directly tied to history of the bridge is the Laksham Temple. It is said that this was where Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana stopped to take a bath in the kund after the killing of the cruel King Ravana.
