The 2007 Vauxhall VXR8 was a rebadged HSV Clubsport and has been available in the UK market since branded as a Vauxhall, it is sold in the Middle East as the Chevrolet CSV CR8. The newly unveiled 2010 model is already grabbing a lot of attention from the media as well prospective new customers.
The new VXR8 is based on HSVs E3 GTS model and is able to undercut competitor full size super saloons like the Audi RS6, Jaguar XFR and the Mercedes E63 AMG. It is also cheaper than some of the performance saloons from the class below, such as the BMW M3, Audi RS4 and Mercedes C63 AMG.
The new VXR8 has been given a full transformation, in the front there is a new shockwave style grille, LED daytime running lights and sleek new wing-vents. On the rear of the car there is a new Superflow' rear spoiler, LED tail lamps and twin exhaust tips that mimic the shape of the front grille. Looking at the first official pictures of the car, it like its predecessor will not easily blend into the scenery.
Like the 2007 VXR8 the new one also uses MacPherson struts/progressive rate coil springs at the front and a multi-link independent set-up at the rear. This new model does however have Vauxhalls latest technology - Magnetic Ride Control (MRC), a suspension system which adapts up to 1000 times a seconds to road conditions and driver inputs. The VXR8 is packed with other driver aids which promise to make the drive much more engaging, safe and great fun!
Unlike a
used Vauxhall VXR in Camberley the VXR8 will only be available through just six highly specialist VXR dealers in the UK a total of 34 VXR outlets however will be authorised to maintain the high performance super saloon.
