Last Minute Halloween Party Planning Tips

By:

It can be stressful, though fun, to plan a last-minute Halloween party. With Halloween only being a few days away you are going to need to come up with some fun ideas, and fast. Here is some great last-minute Halloween party planning tips for you.

Have a costume party. Ask guests to dress up. There are a variety of amazing costumes to choose from. 1950's costumes are a great option. 1950's costumes are comfortable and fun. You can also do couple-themed costume options, or have a general costume party where guests can choose what they want to wear.

Remember to throw out invitations. Since this is so last minute your best option will be through an e-mail or electronic invitation. Electronic invitations, or e-vites, give you a lot of fun options that your guests will appreciate. It is also an easy way for guests to RSVP.

Decorate your home with your Halloween theme. Some easy last-minute decoration ideas are drawing tombstones on cardboard and putting them up in your backyard for guests to see. You could also hang spider webs across the rooms, or hang black and orange balloons.

4. Plan activities for the children. Children have a short attention span, so be sure to have activities planned for them. If you don't have time to look up Halloween games an easy alternative is to play a children game, but add a "Halloween" twist to it to make it stay with the Halloween theme.

5. Have a haunted house. School-aged children will enjoy crawling through a dark "haunted house", full of strange textures, scary music, and family members jumping out to grab them. Be sure to quickly come to the aid of any child who gets a little too spooked.

Have a Halloween theme with your foot. One example is "worms on a bun", which can be a great option if you chose to do a 1950's costume party theme. For this dish you need to cut up hot dogs in to thinner slices, boil them for a few minutes until they start to curl, and then roll them in ketchup or BBQ sauce. Serve the mixture on hamburger buns and add French fries. It really looks like worms. Kids will love it, and adults will have a hard time eating it - even if it is delicious.

7. Have fun with the drinks as well. There are fun glow in the dark drinks ideas you could incorporate. Another fun idea is adding different shades of food coloring to clear cups, and covering them up with ice. Pour a light-colored drink, such as lemonade or sprite, in to the cups and they will "magically" turn in to different colors before their very eyes.
