On November 10 2009 Larnaca Airport opened its new Zenon Terminal. This new terminal is able to handle 2.5 million more arrivals than the old airport could, which means that Larnaca Airport arrivals can now hit 7.5 million people per year with ease. A lot of planning has gone into this new terminal and anyone who has previously used the old airport will be amazed at the transformation.

From the moment you step into Larnaca Airport arrivals you will notice the space and cleanliness of the airport. With bars, restaurants, duty free shops and more this is a place that is dedicated to the comfort and enjoyment of travellers.

What facilities can you expect at Larnaca Airport?

If you are new to Larnaca Airport arrivals you will approach the baggage hall after going through passport control. Once inside you will now find:

Duty free shops which you can browse around and pick up some bargains

13 cafe-restaurants where you can get a bite to eat and relax a little in the departures lounge you will find even more eateries which range from Burger King and Camden Food Co to Panopolis which serves some of the most amazing international pastries

Toilets, telephones and of course baggage carousels

Tourist information

After you walk through customs and into the Larnaca Airport arrivals hall you will be able to pick up your hire car from one of the many car hire companies, exchange your currency, grab a taxi or catch a shuttle bus to your resort.

Parking at Larnaca Airport is either long or short term. Rates for these parking options can vary, however you should expect to pay around 3.50 euros per hour although the first 20 minutes parking is free. For the longer term parking you will pay 12.00 euros per day for the first 5 days, after which the charge will go down to 6.00 euros per day.

For your return trip you will find that checking in is a much more relaxed affair than it used to be in the old and cramped departures hall. Now there are 67 check in desks which means you will not be struggling through hundreds of other holidaymakers. In fact with so many shops, bars, restaurants and comfy seating areas you will find much of the stress of the return journey is gone.

So if you are due to fly into Cyprus via Larnaca Airport arrivals you will find the experience a pleasant one. With so much time and effort that has gone into redesigning the area and more exciting developments planned this is one airport that has gone all out to ensure the comfort of its passengers.
