Kotak Securities reaches out to consumers with its unique Mobile Stock Trading app

June, 2011, Mumbai: The trading screen in India is seeing a metamorphosis with the access being driven on the back of the

smart phone penetration. At Kotak securities we believe that the access to the stock markets via the mobile application

alone has the potential to reach half million download mark before the end of this fiscal.

The recently launched app for Blackberry and Java has seen wide acceptance amongst traders and also retail investors. With

the launch of the iPhone and Android version, we see a large explosion in the app demand.

Talking on this initiative, Mr. B. Gopkumar, Executive Vice President, Kotak Securities said By next quarter, we are

expecting more than 50 thousand downloads. All owing to the unique feature of guest login that allows even non traders to get

real-time information on the stock markets without any distractions. This is in line with KSecs vision of reaching out to

the tier II sector and increase the investor base from a mere 2 percent today

This smart and free-to-download application allows one to place trades on the go, check their portfolio and account

details, get live streaming data of market updates, indices updates, stock quotes, charts, and much more. It is integrated

with the Trading Engine that is built and managed in-house, making it a highly scalable product.

Presently, most of the Mobile Trading Apps work only in Symbian and RIM operating systems (like Java based mobiles,

Blackberry etc), covering just 45% of the market. To increase penetration, Kotak Securities will make the MST application

available on other operating systems like Android and iPhones by month end, covering 95 % of the mobile phone market
