Gautam Gambhir has won the toss and decided to field first. Shane Watson and Amit Paunikar were the two who started the proceedings for Rajasthan Royals. The pair decently made good start; things were well on the track until the introduction of Balaji. Shane Watson looked in good touch but Balaji produced superb ball to dismiss Watson. Amit Paunikar was foxed by well flighted delivery of Abdulla, he came down the track completely misjudged the ball and stumped.

Rajasthan Royals lost key wickets at regular intervals and they lost their way completely. Gambhir shuffled his bowlers all the time; they got the wickets whenever there was change in the attack. They paid the price for resting in-form batsmen Rahul Dravid and Johan Botha. Rajasthan Royals were bowled out their innings at 81 runs.

Kolkata Bowlers were on fire and bowled with their minds working. Balaji got the much needed wicket of Watson up front and their spinners bowled teasing line as batsmen could not resist and they never went for big shots and eventually got out. All the bowlers were among the wickets, Balaji bowled exceedingly well for his three wickets that dictated the terms for KKR. Shakib-al-Hasan got two wickets and Brett Lee, Iqbal Abdulla and Yusuf Pathan chipped in with a wicket each.

Jacques Kallis and Manvinder Bisla opened the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders, Kolkata needed cool heads in the middle as they were not chasing stiff target. Jacques Kallis went back to pavilion for the second ball of the innings. On other day, it would be big blow for Kolkata loosing in form Kallis in the first over.

Their skipper Gautam Gambhir who has been terrific form after missing out in the first game and joined Bisla in the middle. Bisla troubled to score runs against Warne and looked discomfort facing leggie. Manoj Tiwary and Gambhir saw the spell of Warne, the pair played with perfect calculation but Tiwary showed his aggression and finished the game early.

Rajasthan Royals bowlers didnt do much wrong but they were shot of runs to defend. Kolkata batsmen preferred to stay at the crease than attacking the bowlers from the start. Shane Warne, Shaun Tait and Shane Watson were the bowlers completed their quota of four overs. Shaun Tait and Shan Warne got a piece each.
