Knowing The Blackberry Smartphone

By:

Research In Motion is a Canadian company that designs and develops the BlackBerry smartphone since 1999. These devices are designed to function as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) as well as portable media players. These devices are know for their capability of sending and receiving Internet email using the push technology anywhere there is a mobile network coverage or in some cases using the Wi-Fi connectivity. The Blackberry Smartphone supports the BlackBerry Messenger as well as several other instant messaging features.

The modern GSM based Blackberry Smart phones have been designed to support ARM 7, 9 or 11 processor while the older Blackberry devices such as 950 and 957 incorporated Intel 80386 processor. The latest Blackberry models use Intel PXA930 624 MHz processor that has a flash memory of 256MB SDRAM. Apart from the GSM Blackberry models there are also CDMA Blackberry models which are based on the Qualcomm MSM6x00 chipsets that include ARM 9 processor as well as 900/1800 roaming. Most of the CDMA Blackberry models have a flash memory of 256MB with only CDMA Bold 9650 having 512MB.

All the Blackberrys that were developed after OS 5 are designed to support micro SD cards of up to 32 GB. All Blackberries today support push email, web browsing, internet faxing, texting messaging, mobile telephone as well as other features. The first BlackBerry software was designed to provide a monochrome display but all the current Blackberry models use color displays except the Torch 9850 which has an inbuilt touch QWERTY keyboard that only allows the use of the thumb for typing and the Storm series. The Storm series included Storm 1 and 2 that included a SureType keypad that was used to type.

Blackberry navigation started with scroll wheel that was mounted on the right of the Smartphone which later changed to a trackball and then by the optical track pad. The Blackberry Torch is the newest device having been unveiled in August 2010 and it the first slide phone that also has a full QWERTY keyboard. The Blackberry is commonly referred to as Crackberry in the United States as well as in Canada due to the addiction of its user experience. All Smart phones that use Android operating system, Windows Phone 7, webOS and iOS are Blackberrys competitors. BlackBerry Singapore include all these features that have been mentioned and this means all the people of this country can go to their favorite Blackberry shop and ask for it.
